A little Texan road trip.

Here are some snaps from last Saturday when my dad took my sister and I on a little Texan road trip to the San Jacinto monument, Battleship Texas, Kemah Boardwalk and Galveston Island.

A mini Sephora haul.

I went to The Galleria mall in Houston on Sunday and I had to stop at Sephora to pick up a few more things on my makeup shopping list. Fortunately I didn't have spare time to browse around at other things so I just grabbed these three items and tunnel-visioned my way outta there!

I was set on getting my hands on the two benefit items after seeing this video where Elessa from pursebuzz interviews the Global Beauty Authorities of Benefit Cosmetics. I'm still not sure if I like benetint yet - I haven't tried it on my cheeks yet but the first time I used it on my lips I felt like it took a lot of layering to get some substantial colour on there and later the colour settled a bit unevenly. I've worn Hoola once and it's awesome! It's a lot more pigmented than any other bronzer/contour powder I've had in the past, so I have to learn to be less heavy-handed.

This video was what made me put the bareMinerals foundation primer on my shopping list. (I swear I won't let YouTube videos be too detrimental to my bank account!) 

I haven't tried it yet but I'm expecting good things. It's definitely on the more costly side of what I would normally spend on primer, so it better be worth it.

My new blog! Hello and welcome. To it. 

Bad first line. Do-over.

Hello and welcome to my new blog! 

I'll be putting up lots of fun things here like shopping posts, beauty/makeup posts and maybe even some food related or makeshift/DIY posts. Oh, also photo posts (which I call "phlogs") of day-to-day happenings of life, and travel-type posts.

So get your umbrellas at the ready because we'll be expecting a heavy downpour of pictures and pretty things... and also random ramblings which I will label Updates (and hopefully they won't be boring).

As of this delightful second, I am lodged somewhere in Houston, Texas and will be back home in Perth in a couple of weeks. 

I've done loads of shopping here, mostly makeup, not so much clothes and accessories, so I might have some reviews and I definitely many a haul to be looked forward to in the coming weeks.

Bear with me as I tweak and tinker with the design and formatting of this webpage. Currently it is at its super duper early stage in 'blife' (blog-life... yep, I just made that up), and it sometimes takes a rare and powerful surge of inspiration and motivation to get me off my bum and make this place a wonderful (optimistic adjective!) little electronic experience to gander through.

OK. I'm gonna hit the 'Publish' button now... even though I feel like this post is just a tiny fetus being shoved out prematurely from the womb into its hopeful future of the harsh world we call the INTERNET.
